Morf pressed on through the forests. The endless forests that crowned the top of the world. He had lost the trail of the nomad raiders, likely they were lost as well. Morf was sure of their end, just as his comrades had met theirs, and even his steed as well just this sunrise. Death stalked these forests, and consumed men of all measures. All were equal when stalked by Death himself. Morf, however as the thin day progress, realized that he was being stalked, but it was not by Death. He felt it as the hard winds blow from the very top of the world. These winds blew and blew and on them rode the song of the Ice Queen. Morf had crossed into the territory of boundless winter, a land embraced by snow and ice and ruled by a queen that controlled these very elements. As Morf trudged on, fuelled by vengeance alone at this point, he came to feel the Queen's presence more and more. He could feel his body becoming the snow and the ice. The sun dipped below the trees and he could see the Queen reveal herself. Shadows of wind and snow at first, and then she was upon him, her embrace enveloping him. Morf had no fear of Death, they had met on many occasions on the field of battle, but he was not prepared for the Queen or her magics.
