Autechre’s new record is eight hours long. That would not be very impressive if it wasn’t as great as it is through and through. Formed in 1987, they’ve been releasing music since 1991, their sound evolving all the while. The new one’s not on YouTube yet, so I’m posting the first cut off of 2001’s Confield, which was the first tune that sucked me in to their fascinating universe. It’s hard to think of many other modern day musical acts with such long standing high standards of excellence in their output. I solute these blokes.
