Michael Gira - 'I Am Not Insane' (2010)
November is Megalomaniac Month for dj alibi over here at Promise 'n' Warning. Beefheart is to blame. Getting into musics of all kinds of artists whom I couldn't bare previously because of their megalomania. Now I am somehow moved, probably fleetingly, by how these guys take themselves so seriously, like they're ringleaders of some cosmic circus bringing you the Greatest Show On Earth. Listening to lots of Alice Cooper, Albini, and, yea, Beefheart. For some reason, I still can't not take too seriously women who take themselves too seriously. So, as far as the music of Kate Bush, Bjork, PJ Harv et al, I still must take a pass. Madonna and Cyndi Lauper of course are ok. Perhaps Sinead O'Connor, a megalomaniac best known for covering a tune by a greater megalomaniac, is the link I've been missing? I went to the doctor and guess what he told me (guess what he told me). He said, "Girl, you better try to have fun no matter what you do." But he's a fool.
...Added bonus? The liner notes to this album apparently say: “Please do not upload any of the material contained in this package onto the web or ‘share’ it all over the god damn place.” He said "package". Hahaha! What a dick! -alibi
